Oakland Crews Hold 34th Avenue Blaze to Original Structure

Oakland, N.J. — September 25, 2025 — About 55 firefighters from the Oakland Fire Department responded to a third-alarm structure fire Thursday night in the 2100 block of 34th Avenue.
The first call was received at 9:10 p.m. Crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from the upper floors of a residential building. Firefighters mounted an aggressive attack that kept the flames confined to the original structure and protected several neighboring homes.
Incident commanders credited the rapid response and coordinated efforts of all companies for preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent properties. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Oakland Fire Department’s Bureau of Fire Prevention.
