Wood-Ridge, N.J. — September 20, 2025 —The Wood-Ridge Fire Department's annual bailout recertification training was finished on Saturday morning. The department's hook-and-rope escape systems, a vital piece of personal safety gear intended to assist firefighters in swiftly evacuating themselves from potentially fatal situations inside burning buildings, were the main focus of the training. To maintain their certification, each firefighter must show that they are proficient in both deploying and using the system annually.
