Fairfield Firefighters Respond to Passaic Avenue for Vehicle-Into-Building Crash

Fairfield, NJ - Firefighters responded Thursday afternoon to Passaic Avenue after a passenger vehicle crashed into a building, prompting an emergency response for potential victim entrapment and structural damage.

On the afternoon of September 24, the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched following 911 reports of a single-vehicle impact into a commercial or residential structure along Passaic Avenue, with preliminary information suggesting the driver was pinned inside.

Responding units—including Engine 3, Squad 1, and Engine 2—arrived on scene to find the driver had already safely self-extricated from the vehicle prior to their arrival, eliminating the need for mechanical rescue operations.
