No Entrapment Reported in Two-Vehicle Wreck at Eagle Rock and Roseland Avenues

Roseland, NJ - Emergency crews responded early Tuesday morning to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Eagle Rock Avenue and Roseland Avenue, securing the roadway and mitigating a hazardous fluid spill during the morning commute.

At approximately 7:12 a.m. on September 8, the Roseland Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched following reports of a two-car accident at the heavily traveled intersection. Responding units included Squad 662 and Command 660.

First-arriving personnel evaluated the crash scene and confirmed that no motorists were mechanically trapped within the damaged vehicles. However, the impact resulted in compromised automotive systems, creating an active fluid leak across the travel lanes.

Firefighters aboard Squad 662 deployed Speedi-Dri absorbent compound across the asphalt to contain and neutralize the petroleum and coolant spills, preventing hazardous environmental runoff and mitigating slick road conditions for other drivers.

Officers from the Roseland Police Department maintained a safety perimeter, managed heavy commuter traffic around the intersection, and conducted the primary crash investigation. Fire crews remained on site until fluid hazards were fully neutralized and the roadway was deemed safe to reopen to normal traffic.
