19 September 2025 - Members of the Hopatcong Fire Department recently joined the CERT Hopatcong Team for a joint safety training led by Chesapeake & Delaware Railroad Safety Consultants.

The session focused on rail safety, including what to do in the event of a rail emergency, who to contact, and the critical steps first responders should take to protect the community. It served as both an educational evening and a valuable opportunity for HFD and CERT members to train side by side.

The training coincided with See Tracks? Think Train® Week (formerly Rail Safety Week), a national campaign that emphasizes the importance of making safe choices around railroad tracks and trains. By taking part, the department and CERT team continue their commitment to spreading awareness and helping to #StopTrackTragedies before they happen.
