The crew was dispatched to an equipment fire at a quarry off Blair Road. Due to initial uncertainties about the exact location, Hardyston and Franklin fire departments also responded. Upon arrival, units found a grinding machine fully involved in flames. The presence of rubber belts, fuel, oil, and fine wood chips lodged in difficult-to-reach voids made extinguishing the fire a challenging and time-consuming process. Firefighters remained on scene for nearly two hours before fully bringing the blaze under control.
