Westport Crews Supported Fall River Fire Operations

Westport, MA — September 23 — Westport Fire Department's Engine 2 was dispatched to the Flint Fire Station in Fall River to provide station coverage while Fall River firefighters were actively responding to a working fire.

This mutual aid assignment was part of a broader regional effort, as several nearby communities provided support to cover Fall River fire stations.

The fire was first reported at approximately 10:05 p.m. on Rodman Street, where arriving Fall River firefighters discovered a severe fire spreading from a commercial building. The situation was upgraded to a third alarm as the fire spread into two adjacent commercial buildings.

While Fall River fire companies stayed focused on the ongoing fire, Westport Engine 2 helped ensure emergency response coverage from the Flint Fire Station. Station coverage allowed other available companies to handle additional emergency calls while local crews were dedicated to the major incident.
