BROADALBIN, N.Y., Sept. 22, 2025 — The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company (BKFC) held a training session Monday evening focused on fire extinguisher operations.
Members began with a classroom lesson covering the classifications of fire extinguishers and the importance of matching the extinguisher to the type of fire. As officials noted, in certain situations — depending on the size or accessibility of a fire — a portable extinguisher may be the most effective option.
Following the classroom session, firefighters moved outside for hands-on practice with various extinguishers.
BKFC emphasized that regular training ensures members are prepared for a wide range of scenarios as they continue their mission to protect and serve the community.
