SOUTH FORK, Pa. (Monday, Sept. 22) — The South Fork Volunteer Fire Company reported a busy two months of emergency responses, training and community events.

In August, members handled 14 runs, including vehicle accidents, fires and standby support for Station 83. Crews also provided service during the Beaverdale Hill Climbs.

So far in September, the department has answered six calls and taken part in a training exercise.

Outside of emergency work, members marched in the Parade of Champions in Johnstown, the Portage Summerfest Parade and the Forest Hills Festival Parade. They also joined the Touch the Truck event hosted by Forest Hills Ministry, giving residents a chance to connect with local firefighters.
