September 17, 2025 — At 1:55 p.m., the Wyoming Hook & Ladder Company, Inc., with support from neighboring departments, responded to a tractor fire deep within the Carlton Hill Wildlife Management Area.
Chief Nate Coffey was first on scene and reported the tractor fully involved and located far off the roadway, making access by standard apparatus impossible. Wyoming Tanker 1, Rescue 2, and Tanker 3 responded, but given the remote terrain and time of day, additional mutual aid resources were requested.
Assisting agencies included Warsaw Fire Department with an engine and side-by-side unit, Pavilion Fire Department Brush 77, Bethany Fire Department Brush 32, Attica Fire Department Tanker 7 and Brush 6, and Perry Center Fire Department providing manpower.
Special thanks were extended to the Town of Batavia Fire Department for standby coverage, the Wyoming Hook & Ladder Auxiliary “Squad 10” for refreshments, as well as the New York State DEC and State Police for their assistance on scene.
The fire was successfully contained, and no injuries were reported.
