Mutual Aid Crews Assist Millville at Banksville Park Blaze

Millville,N.J.— September 24 — At 4:14 a.m., Millville Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. (MVFC) and Box 84-70 responded to a residence fire in the Banksville Park neighborhood. Upon arrival, personnel discovered a single-story home with substantial smoke and flames visible from the rear (C side) and right (D side), as well as fire breaking through the roof. 

Under the supervision of Assistant Chief Walt Johnson, firefighters began suppression efforts, brought the blaze under control, and performed an overhaul to look for concealed fire extensions. The operation lasted almost two hours and ended around 6:14 a.m.

The home had no occupants at the time. Medical authorities checked two firefighters on the site, but neither needed to be hospitalized. The Delaware State incident Marshal has been brought in to investigate the cause of the incident.
