WARRINGTON, Pa. (Wednesday, Sept. 3) — Emergency responders staged a joint fire and hazardous materials drill Wednesday at Polysciences, Inc. in Warrington, testing their ability to handle an industrial accident.
The scenario simulated a forklift incident in which a worker suffered a medical emergency, leading to a hazardous material spill. Crews were tasked with rescuing a victim, identifying the substance, containing the spill and securing the site.
The drill followed two months of planning by Warrington Township Department of Emergency Services, working alongside Bucks County HazMat. Participants included Bucks County Special Operations, Warrington Fire Company, Warrington Township Police and Warrington Community Ambulance.
Township officials said the exercise strengthened coordination between first responders and local businesses.
