RICHLANDTOWN, Pa. (Thursday, Sept. 11) — Members of the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company joined fellow firefighters Thursday for specialized grain bin rescue training hosted by the Richlandtown Fire Company.
The program, led by the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety, began with classroom instruction on grain bin design and rescue challenges. Firefighters then participated in hands-on drills, practicing how to stabilize and safely extricate a patient from a grain bin.
Officials said the training helps ensure crews are prepared to respond to agricultural emergencies in the community.
