September 22, 2025 — Members of the Ravena Fire Department dedicated their evening drill to in-service training on newly acquired 4-gas meters.

These advanced devices enable firefighters to safely monitor air quality during a wide range of emergencies, from structure fires to hazardous materials incidents. By detecting dangerous gases, the meters can also help identify the source of emergencies and enhance overall responder and public safety.

The training will continue next week as part of the department’s regular drill schedule, ensuring all members are confident in deploying the equipment during real-world incidents.

The Ravena Fire Department encourages community members to “answer the call” and consider joining the department. More information is available at www.ravenafire.com.
