NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Monday, Sept. 22) — Two Northampton Township firefighters took part in a weekend training on large animal rescues at the Washington County Public Safety Center.

Firefighters Mithoefer and Harp joined the program hosted by the Washington County Animal Response Team, which focused on animal behavior and safe mitigation techniques.

Officials said such training prepares responders for incidents involving horses, cattle and other large animals, which can be especially challenging in emergency situations.
