Hampton, N.J. — September 23 — Hampton Fire Co. Station 13 was responded to Hampton School after receiving a report of a burning odor on the third floor. Lebanon Township, Glen Gardner, High Bridge, South Branch, and the New Jersey State Police all gave mutual help.

Upon arrival, firefighters conducted a thorough search of the building. Crews investigated all floors and HVAC units on both roofs to find the cause. Following a thorough inspection, no fire was discovered inside the structure. The odor was eventually tracked to the exterior and is thought to have entered through open windows, probably from a small adjacent burn.
