CALFON, N.J.— September 21— The Califon Fire Company responded to a dangerous incident when a dead ash tree fell across electrical wires, just missing a vehicle on the road. The fallen wires also posed a concern to a neighboring electric fence used for horses, as the lines may ignite the enclosure.
Deputy 44, Engine 44, and Engine 34 guarded the area while waiting for Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L). Once utility technicians arrived, the electricity was turned off and the immediate hazard was mitigated. The fire department's prompt intervention guaranteed the safety of motorists, people, and animals until the area was stabilized.
