SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Tuesday, Sept. 16) — Firefighters extricated one person after a two-vehicle crash on Mohns Hill Road and Chapel Hill Road left two people injured Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
Township of Spring Fire Rescue Services Rescue 85 and Deputy 85 were dispatched along with Western Berks EMS. Additional reports indicated one vehicle had struck a tree and an occupant was trapped, prompting the call to be upgraded to an entrapment assignment.
Wyomissing Fire Department and Adamstown’s Engine 11-1 responded under mutual aid. Firefighters arriving on scene confirmed the entrapment, stabilized the vehicle and used rescue tools to remove the patient. The individual was placed on a long board and freed after crews displaced the doors.
Another person from the second vehicle was evaluated by EMS. Firefighters also mitigated a fluid spill, deployed a precautionary hose line and managed traffic while the scene was cleared.
Units returned to service once the vehicles were removed.
