Early Morning Bedroom Blaze: Bushnell’s Basin and Fairport Crews Knock Down Fire in Egypt District

Bushnell's Basin, NY - Firefighters from the Bushnell’s Basin Fire Department mobilized early Saturday morning to assist the Egypt Fire Department in containing and extinguishing an active bedroom fire in eastern Monroe County.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. on September 5, Bushnell’s Basin units—including Engine 312, 3C-11, and 3C-21—were dispatched on mutual aid to assist Egypt crews at a confirmed working structure fire. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located an active fire burning within a residential bedroom.

Bushnell’s Basin Engine 312 integrated into forward operations alongside Fairport Fire Department Engine 3413, advancing handlines directly into the compartment to knock down the main body of fire. The coordinated interior push kept the flames confined to the bedroom space, limiting structural damage and allowing crews to transition quickly into overhaul and ventilation before clearing the scene. No injuries were reported.
