Washington Township, N.J. — September 11 — The Washington Township Fire Department held its annual Remembrance Walk on Thursday evening to mark the 23rd anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The event brought residents, firefighters, and community partners together in a public display of remembrance for the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, including the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The walk has become a tradition in Washington Township, serving as both a memorial and an opportunity for reflection. Along the route, participants paused to honor victims, first responders, and families forever changed by the attacks. Fire service members emphasized that these annual gatherings help ensure the legacy of September 11 remains a lasting part of community memory.
