Washington Township, N.J. September 4 — In Mantua Township, the Washington Township Fire Department was called to a residential fire that was still burning in the 100 block of Laurel Drive on 4th September.

Battalion 10 and Engine Company 1022 were sent to support Mantua Township Fire District units that were already on the scene. Supporting fire suppression and maintaining a consistent water supply for interior operations were the crews' duties. Squad 10 and Ladder 10 stayed in operation within Washington Township to respond to any further emergency calls as the incident progressed.

In Gloucester County, where departments frequently rely on one another to provide sufficient staffing and apparatus coverage during structure fires, mutual-aid responses like this one are typical.
