Monroe Township, N.J — August 16 — Tanker-57 was dispatched by Monroe Township Fire District #2 to Paterson, New Jersey, to aid with the city's current water emergency on 16th August.16th.The deployment was part of a larger mutual aid effort including several Middlesex County entities.
The Paterson issue was caused by a burst in a large water main—a approximately 30-inch, ancient pipe estimated to be more than 140 years old. The rupture caused substantially reduced or no water pressure in numerous places, leaving thousands of households without consistent water delivery.
