Burlington City Firefighters Honored with Medal of Valor

On September 11, 2025, during the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs meeting, Chief Craig Leshner Jr., Lieutenant David Counard, and Firefighters Matthew Voza and Nathan Pogorzelski were presented with the Medal of Valor.
The prestigious honor was awarded in recognition of their heroic actions on March 31, 2024, when they bravely rescued a child from a house fire. Their courage and dedication exemplify the highest traditions of the fire service.
Congratulations to these outstanding members on this well-deserved recognition.
