At 12:03 p.m on 26th August 2025, NWBCD dispatchers received multiple reports of a car fire on the Garden State Parkway northbound near mile marker 168.4. Woodcliff Lake Fire Department (WLFD), along with Montvale Fire Department under an automatic mutual aid policy, were dispatched.
Woodcliff Lake Police later updated the location to mile marker 167.8, prompting Chief 68-1 to request Hillsdale Fire Department since the incident was within their jurisdiction. Squad 68 stretched a front bumper line to extinguish the vehicle fire and the brush extension. Hillsdale Engine 27-2 assisted with overhaul, while Montvale Engine M1 supplied additional water to the squad company. Parkway Command was held by M10.
