On Saturday, September 7, 2025, members of the Rutherford Fire Department’s Engine Company #4 and Truck Company #1 participated in the National Fallen Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at MetLife Stadium.

Engine Company #4 firefighters William Dansbach and Mark Schlemm climbed 2,200 steps—the equivalent of 110 stories—while wearing full turnout gear. Each carried a tag bearing the name and photo of an FDNY firefighter who lost their life on September 11, 2001.

Meanwhile, members of Truck Company #1, together with the Carlstadt Fire Department Truck Company, proudly displayed the American flag at the entrance to the event.

The Rutherford Fire Department expressed deep pride and honor in being represented at this solemn memorial, reaffirming the enduring promise: Never Forget the 343.
