DOA After Jump from Newburgh-Beacon Bridge

BEACON, NY – On September 20th, Beacon Fire Department requested mutual aid from Newburgh Fire Department for a reported jumper off the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Newburgh FD responded to the Newburgh Yacht Club. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Marine Unit located the subject and brought them aboard their boat. Orange County Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-13 was at the command post at the Yacht Club and requested EMS for transport. The Dutchess County Marine Unit brought the subject to the Yacht Club, where Empress EMS was staging. Town of Newburgh Police and New York State Police were also on scene. The subject was pronounced DOA after resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The New York State Police are investigating the incident.
