The Hackensack Fire Department once again welcomed the Hackensack Police Department’s Youth Academy for a full day of activities. Students rotated through several stations, including a zipline, hoseline operations, basic first aid with the Hackensack Volunteer Ambulance, a sprinkler demonstration with the National Fire Sprinkler Association, and a tour of Fire Headquarters.

Fire Department members also prepared lunch for nearly 90 students enrolled in the weeklong summer academy, as well as for numerous City leaders and employees who stopped by to show their support.

The department extended thanks to all members who assisted with the event and wished the students the best of luck in the upcoming school year.

Hackensack Fire Fighters IAFF Local 2081, Hackensack Fire Officers IAFF Local 3172, the City of Hackensack, Hackensack Police Department, and Hackensack Volunteer Ambulance Corps were recognized for their contributions.
