Hackensack’s MSU Air Truck, along with numerous mutual aid units, was called to Paterson to support operations at a large fire involving hazardous materials.
Closer to home, Engine 1, Engine 2, Rescue 1, and the Deputy responded to Route 80 near mile marker 67 for a serious motor vehicle accident. Crews worked alongside the Teaneck Fire Department to mitigate the incident.
This weekend, Hackensack firefighters will participate in two community events: a Touch a Truck program at Foschini Park organized by the Johnson Public Library, and the Men’s Health Fair at the M&M Center. Both events will take place on Saturday.
During an engine company operations drill, FF Buttafuoco met two young future firefighters.
Additionally, crews handled an overturned vehicle on River Street and assisted the Department of Public Works when a garbage truck had to dump its load after its contents caught fire. Quick action by DPW employees prevented the truck itself from burning.
Hackensack Fire Fighters IAFF Local 2081, Hackensack Fire Officers IAFF Local 3172, the City of Hackensack, Hackensack Police Department, Hackensack Health Department, and the Paterson Fire Department were all acknowledged for their roles and support.
