Early-Morning Fire at Popular Restaurant in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, CT - Firefighters were called to 252 Broad Street for smoke coming from the chimney of the Staropolsky Restaurant just after 2:00 A.M., on September 19th.


The restaurant is located in the Little Poland section of the city and is very well-known. Firefighters located a fire in the basement ceiling and quickly put it out.


The restaurant area received some smoke damage, but should not be closed for too long. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
