SETAUKET, NY - At approximately 10:00 A.M. on September 21st, the Setauket Fire Department was activated for a reported barn fire all the way up on the north shore of Long Island.

Dispatchers at the 9-1-1 center received numerous calls reporting that thick black smoke could be seen in the distance. Firefighters arrived to find a huge barn fully engulfed on the grounds. Crews had to protect several other buildings while going right into exterior ops with tower ladders and hand lines.

As many as 15 other departments and ambulances responded and battled the blaze for over an hour before bringing the main body of fire under control. No injuries to any firefighters or animals were reported at this time.
