BALDWIN, Pa. (Tuesday, Sept. 9) — Baldwin Fire Rescue crews and mutual aid partners extinguished a house fire Tuesday afternoon after multiple 911 calls reported flames at a home on Wallace Drive, officials said.
Engine 1, already returning from another call, responded immediately along with Engine 2. Firefighters arrived to find a deck fire at the rear of the residence being held in check by a garden hose. A handline was deployed to finish extinguishing the flames.
As crews worked, smoke was observed from a second-floor window. A second handline was advanced, and firefighters located and put out a small bedroom fire. Overhaul was completed in both areas.
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. Crews cleared the scene in just under two hours.
