Mutual Aid Responds to Rutgers Avenue Structure Fire

Avenel, NJ — September 4 —On September 4th afternoon, firefighters from the Avenel Fire Department responded to a working structure fire on Rutgers Avenue in Woodbridge Township's Colonia neighborhood. To help at the situation, truck 5-2-5 was sent.
When firefighters arrived, they were tasked with performing vertical ventilation on the roof. With order to aid with fire containment, crews also performed overhaul, salvage, and other auxiliary duties. Mutual aid was provided by several neighboring departments.
