Man killed in Moonachie mobile home fire, officials say
MOONACHIE, N.J. (Sept. 8, 2025) — A man was found dead after a mobile home explosion and fire Monday afternoon on 6th Street in Moonachie, officials said.
The three-alarm blaze broke out around 4:47 p.m., drawing police and fire crews from Moonachie and surrounding departments. Firefighters located an adult male victim inside the home. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Squad responded, along with the county’s Arson Task Force. Investigators determined the fire was not suspicious in nature.
Officials said the joint investigation involved the Moonachie Police Department, Moonachie Fire Department, Moonachie Fire Prevention Bureau and local fire agencies that provided mutual aid.
