On September 4, 2025, a construction crew accidentally struck a gas main in Hubbard Park, Red Bank, prompting an immediate emergency response. The Red Bank Fire Department quickly secured the scene while coordinating with utility representatives to mitigate the hazard. Out of an abundance of caution, nearby residents were evacuated from their homes.
The Fair Haven Fire Department and Fair Haven EMS provided valuable mutual aid, assisting with both the evacuation efforts and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents during the incident. Thanks to the swift, coordinated response of all agencies involved, the situation was safely brought under control without injuries.
