Evesham, N.J. —September 12 — A call for a suspected school bus fire involving children brought Evesham Fire-Rescue and local police to Sycamore Avenue on September 12th at 3:18 p.m.

As firemen arrived, they discovered no active fires. Instead, smoke was flowing from the bus as a result of a major oil leak and engine overheating.

Prior to the arrival of emergency personnel, the bus operator had already evacuated the youngsters. Evesham Fire-Rescue emphasized that the response demonstrated how preparedness and inter-agency cooperation help ensure the safety of students during transport.
