Wood-Ridge firefighters free dog trapped in sewer grate

WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. (Sept. 9, 2025) — Firefighters rescued a dog Tuesday night after its hind leg became stuck in a sewer grate near the Marshall Lane playground, officials said.
Crews responded at 8:37 p.m. and safely freed the animal without further injury. The dog was taken to an animal hospital for evaluation.
All units cleared the scene by 9:10 p.m.
