Indian Mills Fire Co. Highlights Critical Labor Day Weekend Operations

Over the Labor Day weekend, the Indian Mills Volunteer Fire Company showcased the importance of extensive training and equipment for its volunteers. Recently, the department has shared updates on Medevac Helicopter Landing Zone training, marine operations at Atsion Lake, and other firefighting and rescue tactics.


Earlier in the weekend, Engine 2812 and volunteer personnel established a Landing Zone (LZ) for the SouthStar Helicopter to transport a local resident in need of urgent medical care. Later, the Fire Company responded to a severe motor vehicle accident on Route 206, which resulted in multiple fatalities, closure of the highway for several hours, and transport of an injured individual to Cooper Trauma Center. The incident involved coordinated efforts including marine units at Atsion Lake, medevac helicopters, search and rescue, traffic management, and recovery operations.
