Bloomfield Fire wins national scholarship to support youth camp

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (Sept. 2, 2025) — The Bloomfield Fire Department was selected as one of 12 departments nationwide to receive a 2025 Fire Camp Scholarship from the International Association of Fire Chiefs, officials announced Tuesday.
The grant, worth up to $5,000, supports volunteer and combination fire departments in running community fire camps. Bloomfield officials said the funding will go toward the department’s “Girls on Fire” youth camp, which offers hands-on firefighting experiences to inspire future female first responders.
