LIVINGSTON, N.J. (Sept. 11, 2025) — Members of the Livingston Fire Department gathered Thursday night at the township gazebo for the annual 9/11 memorial service.
The ceremony honored community members lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and recognized the department’s role in the aftermath. On Sept. 12, 2001, Livingston crews joined a convoy of mutual aid companies to staff firehouses across New York City.
Engine 5 was assigned to cover Engine 231 and Ladder 120 in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood, while the department’s rescue truck was sent to Staten Island to cover Rescue 5.
Fire officials said the department continues to honor those lost and remember the events of that day.
