The Montague Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up to mark its 75th year of service during the 105th Annual Sussex County Firemen’s Inspection Day & Parade, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025.

The parade, which honors the commitment and pride of local first responders, will step off promptly at 1:00 p.m. from near 265 Shore Drive inside the High Point Country Club. The route will travel west on Shore Drive, turn right onto North Gate, cross Clove Road, and conclude in the municipal driveway. Parade lineup will form along Shore Drive between Wagon Wheel Road and the HPCC entrance.

To accommodate the event, Shore Drive will be closed to traffic between Wagon Wheel Road and Clove Road from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The back entrance to HPCC via New Road will remain open.

Following the parade, festivities will continue at the firehouse, featuring a firefighter competition, awards presentation, food and drinks, commemorative merchandise, and a 50/50 raffle drawing. Food vendors will include Everly & Bro’s Party Services, Southern Shaved Ice, The Brew Crew, and Smokin’ Mo’s Southern BBQ.
