Spencerport Firefighters Extricate Five Following Ogden Crash

Spencerport Fire District crews extricated five people from two vehicles following a serious crash at South Union Street and Stony Point Road on September 7.

Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly before 1:30 p.m. Firefighters found three occupants trapped in one vehicle and two in the other, with one vehicle on its side. All five were extricated within approximately 30 minutes of the initial dispatch and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Ogden Police reported that an 88-year-old passenger later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The remaining four occupants suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene. Police determined that failure to yield was a primary contributing factor and ruled out drugs and alcohol.
