Fire at Pfizer Facility in Andover Quickly Contained

Andover, Mass. — September 16, 2026 — On Wednesday afternoon, firefighters arrived at the Pfizer facility located at 1 Burtt Road following a report of a smoke-like odor inside the commercial building. 

Andover Fire Rescue responded around 4:01 p.m. and arrived to find smoke rising from the roof. Firefighters extended hose lines to both the outside and inside of the building and initiated an aggressive firefighting effort. The fire was swiftly extinguished and did not spread to other areas of the facility. 

Local reports showed that firefighters found active flames on the second floor and close to the roof. Crews stayed at the scene to look for any spread and handle any remaining hot spots. Firefighting efforts persisted for almost two hours before the scene was handed over for investigation.
