PERTH AMBOY, N.J. (Sept. 8, 2025) — Firefighters from Perth Amboy and multiple marine units responded Monday afternoon to a reported boat fire in Raritan Bay, officials said.

The call came in at 2:17 p.m. Marine 5 from Perth Amboy arrived alongside FDNY Marine 8 and FDNY Marine Battalion. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, and victims were located safely aboard another vessel.

Additional marine support came from Port Reading and Carteret fireboats under the New Jersey Regional Fireboat Task Force Zone 8 plan.
