Keyport crews assist at Union Beach house fire

UNION BEACH, N.J. (Sept. 3, 2025) — Firefighters from Keyport responded Wednesday afternoon to assist Union Beach crews at a house fire where one resident was rescued, officials said.
The fire was reported at 1:31 p.m. as a deck fire but was upgraded to a working fire with entrapment while units were en route, according to Keyport Fire Department.
Squad 22 arrived with smoke showing as Union Beach police officers removed a resident from the home. Firefighters from Keyport and Union Beach stretched a hose line and also rescued an animal from the structure.
The fire was quickly brought under control. The cause remains under investigation.
