Vehicle Strikes Residence at McClintock and Virgil Roads: Dryden Fire and EMS Respond

DRYDEN, NY — Emergency personnel from Neptune Hose Co. #1 of Dryden and Dryden Ambulance responded Monday evening to a motor vehicle accident involving a car that struck an occupied residence at the intersection of McClintock Road and Virgil Road.


At approximately 6:25 p.m. on September 7, Dryden fire/rescue and emergency medical crews were dispatched following reports of a vehicle impacting a house.


Upon arrival, first responders evaluated the scene and confirmed that the driver had successfully self-extricated from the vehicle prior to arrival and sustained no injuries. The resident inside the home was visibly shaken by the impact but was assessed and found to be uninjured as well.


Fire crews mitigated vehicle and structural hazards, established perimeter safety, and evaluated the immediate integrity of the dwelling.


The cause and contributing factors of the collision remain under active investigation by the New York State Police and the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office.
