August 28, 2025 — The Bristol Board of Fire Commissioners honored several members of the Bristol Fire Department tonight for their dedication and exceptional service in recent incidents.

The Peer Support Team was recognized for their ongoing work supporting the Plainville Fire Department following the tragic line-of-duty death of one of their firefighters. Molly the Fire Dog was also acknowledged for providing comfort and emotional support to the Plainville department during this difficult time.

Additionally, multiple firefighters were commended for their quick actions at a recent house fire where a civilian was trapped. Crews worked swiftly and were able to escort the homeowner to safety.

“The department is very proud to have such dedicated and skilled members who are always willing to support their brothers and sisters in red and put their lives on the line to protect the community,” Bristol Fire said in a statement.
