Deering DPW Upgrades Town Hall Cistern

September 10, 2025 — The Deering Department of Public Works has completed an important upgrade to the cistern at Town Hall, which serves as the water supply for the building’s sprinkler system.
When the cistern was originally installed, no access was provided for inspection or maintenance. The new riser installed by DPW will now allow for regular inspections, proper upkeep, and provide an additional water supply for any fire event in the center of town.
The town thanked Jim Card and his crew for completing the update and improving fire protection for the community.
