GROTON, MA - Groton firefighters were dispatched to Martins Pond Road on the evening of September 9th for a reported structure fire. Companies arrived on scene to smoke showing from a single-family private dwelling. A kitchen fire was found in the basement and crews stretched two hand lines to knock down the fire. Mutual aid assisted on scene checking for extension and overhauling. The fire was knocked down a short time later.
