Mendon firefighters conduct ladder maintenance on duty day

MENDON, Mass. (Aug. 30, 2025) — A duty crew from the Mendon Fire Department spent Saturday performing maintenance on the department’s ground ladders, officials said.
The work, led by Lt. Morgante, involved removing each of the department’s 16 ladders — ranging from 10 to 35 feet — from vehicles. Firefighters extended, washed, scrubbed and waxed the ladders before returning them to service.
Department officials said regular upkeep is critical to ensure equipment functions properly during emergencies.
