Gardner crews assist Hubbardston brush fire, later handle dumpster blaze

GARDNER, Mass. (Sept. 3, 2025) — Gardner firefighters responded to two calls Wednesday, beginning with a mutual aid brush fire in Hubbardston and later a dumpster fire at Timpany Plaza.

Chief 1, Truck 10 and Truck 5 were sent to Hubbardston in the afternoon to help battle a brush fire deep in the woods off Lombard Road. Officials said multiple crews were expected to return Thursday morning to continue extinguishing hot spots.

Shortly after returning to Gardner, companies were dispatched to Timpany Plaza, where they found a dumpster fully involved in flames.
